Welcome to new address of Sofia's most beloved Indian restaurant

For a number of reasons, true Indian cuisine is hard to find outside India. A place in Sofia has proven throughout the years that it is achievable. Since 2008, Indian Restaurant Kohinoor has been a preferred place to discover the subcontinent's many tastes, and to repeatedly enjoy their inimitable flavours, textures, aromas.

The secret of Kohinoor's consistently good quality is the love with which food is prepared, the aim to stay true to genuine tastes, the enthusiasm in recreating with tastes and atmosphere of India. Small details are the key to the wholesome experience at Kohinoor, like the wines selected by leading Bulgarian sommeliers.

When all of these are combined, the experience is true, exotic, memorable.

This January, Kohinoor Restaurant went a step further. It found a new address, at Gotse Delchev Boulevard. The location is easy to reach, and the restaurant now takes a whole house, with both a summer and a winter garden.

Browsing Kohinoor's menu is like a trip to India.

Kohinoor offers the most emblematic and beloved Indian classics, turning the selection process into a challenge: so many dishes, tastes and aromas seduce us to try them. This is also true to vegetarians, as Indian cuisine is famously oriented towards meatless dishes and Kohinoor follows this tradition.

The salads range from mango, chicken and Ghana Chat to Tandouri salad and several kinds of Raita. The soups include the classic Dhal, while the appetisers list Pappadums, Samosas, Pekoras, the all-Indian favourite Aloo Jeera and more.

Like any Indian restaurant worth its salt, Kohinoor has a range of Tandooris,Tikkas and Curries with so many options in chicken, lamb, prawn, fish and vegetables that one can get easily both excited and overwhelmed, just like in India itself.

The variety and quality of rice dishes at Kohinoor is on a par, and the breads and the sauces are to die for. Desserts are a universe in themselves, with favourites like Halva, Kulfi, Gulab Jamun.

Before ordering, one only needs to check how hot a dish is, as some of them can be too much for the untrained European tastebuds.

Every bite one takes in Kohinoor is delicious, cooked to perfection, charged with the taste of India and of love for life.
